VL6180X Time of Flight Distance Sensor Module
The Fasizi VL6180X is a highly accurate Time of Flight distance sensor module designed for use with Arduino and other microcontrollers. This module utilizes a miniature laser source and sensor to measure the time it takes for light to travel to a target and reflect back, providing precise distance measurements.
Unlike ultrasonic sensors, the VL6180X offers a narrow sensing cone, making it ideal for detecting the distance of surfaces directly in front of it. It also overcomes the limitations of traditional infrared sensors, such as linearity issues and ambiguity in readings. This sensor is perfect for robotics, interactive projects, and applications requiring gesture recognition.
The module is conveniently mounted on a breakout board with an integrated voltage regulator and level shifting, allowing it to be powered and controlled by microcontrollers operating at either 3.3V or 5V.
