In this crime comedy, a group of bank robbers finds themselves in a predicament with an eccentric old lady who discovers their illicit activities. Mrs Wilberforce, living with her parrots, believes the lodgers – Professor Marcus (Alec Guinness), the Major (Cecil Parker), Louis (Herbert Lom), Harry (Peter Sellers), and One-Round (Danny Green) – are classical musicians. However, a careless accident reveals the true contents of their case: a large sum of money. The virtuous Mrs Wilberforce vows to report them to the police. The criminals decide the only way to silence her is to kill her. Will their plan be as simple as it seems?
