Application Guide

For optimal results, apply Ronseal uPVC Paint on a warm, dry day with temperatures above 10°C, avoiding days when rain is anticipated. Cold or wet conditions can hinder proper drying and performance.

Surface Preparation

• Ensure the area to be painted is clean, dry, and free from dirt, dust, and grease.
• Wash the surface with warm soapy water, rinse, and allow it to dry thoroughly.
• Any damaged areas on the surface will require repair before painting.
• Lightly sand the area with 180-220 grit sandpaper to achieve an even finish.
• If painting over previously painted uPVC where the existing paint is in good condition, a light sand with 240 grit sandpaper is sufficient.
• If the existing paint is flaking or cracked, it will need to be sanded off using 120 grit sandpaper.
• Wear a face mask during sanding for safety. Clean up all dust and wipe the surface with a damp cloth.

Painting

• Stir the paint thoroughly before and during use.
• Apply the paint using a brush or a foam roller.
• Allow 2-4 hours for drying time between coats.
• A second coat is typically recommended. When painting over a dark colour, a third coat may be required for full coverage.
• The final coat will achieve waterproof properties within 1 hour of application.
