This very compact Real Time Clock (RTC) module is based on the highly accurate DS3231 IC and includes a battery backup. The module has a header specifically designed to plug directly into the Raspberry Pi's IO header, requiring no additional wires or soldering. It utilizes the Raspberry Pi's I2C hardware interface to accurately keep the current time and date, even without an internet connection, making it ideal for remote data logging applications.

While specifically designed for the Raspberry Pi, its compatibility with both 3.3V and 5V logic levels allows it to be used with most microcontroller development boards, such as the Arduino.
