• •Dogs who do discdogging should be healthy. Joints like hips, elbows or the spine should not show signs of damage. Avoid practising jumps with dogs who have not fully matured. For jumping the dog should be at least about 18 months old. A soft ground (e.g. lawn) which is even and without holes helps to avoid injuries to the dog. Adapt how high you throw to the physical abilities of your dog. For this reason it is advisable to acquaint yourself with the type of disc and the techniques of throwing. At low temperatures the discs can splinter. Therefore discs made of nylon or natural rubber are best in winter.
