Lancome was founded in 1935 by the infamous Armand Petitjean in France. Behind the company is the aim and ambition of it's founder to create a beauty brand that would enable French elegance to be delivered all around the world. And travel it has! Lancome has become a house hold name in many different countries. The name Lancome was inspired by the castle ruins Le Chateau de Lancosme. The iconic logo that it synonymous with Lancome is based on the roses that grow in the area of the castle ruins. The logo is a single golden rose. Lancome has continued to grow over the years and is now represented by actresses, global supermodels, perfumers and make up artists world over. Lancome is also well known for it's support it gave to the Golden Hat Foundation in 2011. Lancome teamed up with the world famous actress Kate Winslet and as a result Lancome donated 150,000 Euros to the Foundation that helps raise money and awareness for children with autism.
