Available in two primary forms:

• Free Running: Constructed from precision-profiled austenitic stainless steel wire wound into a helical spiral, these inserts present a spring-like appearance. When installed, they form strong, permanent internal threads that resist heat and corrosion. Their position is maintained by radial pressure between their coils and the tapped hole's flanks due to a larger free diameter compared to their installed diameter.
• Screw Locking (Prevailing Torque): Ideal for applications subjected to vibration or impact, these inserts provide the added security of prevailing locking torque. This is achieved through polygonal grip coils within the insert's length, which exert radial pressure on the male thread. These grip coils have locking chords that protrude internally, displacing and exerting radial pressure on the male thread as it passes through. The coils relax upon removal, allowing for repeated assembly while retaining measurable torque. For screw locking inserts, it is recommended to use close-fit plated or lubricated bolts or screws.
