About this item

These integrated LEDs are the same used in our new stylish DotStar light strips, only very small. Arranged in an 8x8 matrix, each pixel is individually addressable: just like , DotStar LEDs have a microcontroller built inside the LED. You can set the color/brightness of each LED to a 24-bit color (8 bits each for red, green and blue). | But don't be fooled by its small size, each LED is still amazing and dazzling in brightness, just like the DotStars/NeoPixels you know and . | Each LED acts as a scroll record, reading the input color data on the input pin and then pulling out the previous color data on the output pin. By sending a long data string, you can control an unlimited amount of LEDs. PWM is built into each LED chip, so once you set the color, you can stop communicating with the disk and it continue to make PWM on all LEDs . | Don't eat this LED grid just because it's so colorful and bite-sized! This is the smallest small LED grid create, with 1 full RGB color pixel in a square just 64" x 1" square (for metric enthusiasts, this is 24.4+ -mm x 24.4+ -mm). The best thing about is that these are tiny DotStar LEDs with built-in PWM drivers, so only two of digital I/O to get the brightness. | Wiring is simple: there are two connection ports 3 pads on the back. Solder the cable to the input port (+5 V GND DIN) and provide 5 V DC for the +5 V and , then connect the DIN to the microcontroller. You also need to establish a connection to common from 5V power supply to the microcontroller/para . Since each LED can draw up to 40mA of current (up to 2.5 amps per panel if all LEDs are bright color!)
