The Capitan is an ultra-stable helmet from Black Diamond that provides extra protection on both the sides and back while also featuring a sleek, tub-shaped fit for all-day comfort. The helmet is also equipped with the revolutionary MIPS technology (Multidirectional Impact Protection System). The MIPS system protects the head from the rotational force generated in the event of an impact when the impact is made from an oblique angle. This additional protection system has been proven to reduce the rotational force on the brain by absorbing and deflecting impacts acting at an angle on the helmet. With a two-piece ABS shell construction made of EPP composite foam and moulded EPS, the Capitan meets the increased requirements for protection on the sides and back proposed by the UIAA while the ventilation openings provide sufficient breathability in warm temperatures. The fit of the slim mounting system is easy to adjust, while the integrated headlamp clips with an elastic holder on the back secure your lighting at night.
